Blooms at Twilight Vintage Long Kimono

$165.00

Deep blue silk vintage long kimono with abstract russet, gold, and orange chrysanthemum flowers. Also known as mums, the flower became an official symbol of the Japanese Imperial Family as early as the year 794. In later years, kimono designs featuring chrysanthemum patterns were worn by both the nobility and the growing merchant class, who admired the flower for its beauty and symbolic meaning of longevity, rejuvenation, and nobility. Lined in russet and cream silk, this kimono will come with a contrasting obijime cord. It is a decorative woven cord used to secure the kimono closed and add an ornamental touch. Please note that a traditional kimono style is long in length. It can be belted or tailored for length.

Style Tip: Wrap your kimono around your body left over right, and wear a wide leather or fabric belt for a sleek and modern look.

  • Suggested Fit: Large/X-Large

  • Measurements: Shoulder to sleeve 22”, Sleeve length 19”, Width 23”, Length 62”

  • Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no noted flaws. This is a vintage garment, please wear and store with care. Please view our kimono care page for details.

A vintage kimono has often been tailored to the individual wearer. The width and length of all kimono styles will vary. I have sized the collection as Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Please view the sizing chart for detailed information, I will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Kimono lengths are traditionally very long. A traditional kimono is worn by folding and tucking the length to suit the wearer. Your kimono can be custom altered for length by the tailor of your choice.

Please note that due to the nature of vintage clothing, each piece may possess its own unique charm, including slight imperfections, variations in color, and signs of wear. These characteristics contribute to the authenticity and vintage appeal of the garment.
